It seems Pope Francis needs to brush up on his Tertullian!

It has been reported (in The ChristLast Media, I must note) that the current Pope does not like the phrase "lead us not into temptation...

"Let no freedom be allowed to novelty, because it is not fitting that any addition should be made to antiquity. Let not the clear faith and belief of our forefathers be fouled by any muddy admixture." -- Pope Sixtus III

Penguins Update.

The Penguins are fun to watch again, kiddies. Everybody knows Sidney Crosby is great, but young Mr. Malkin has some serious moves. Let us hope the Pens can work out the salary numbers to keep the even younger Mr. Staal in the NHL. Young guns like these are just what the league needs. (Let us also hope these guys are not playing in Hamilton next year.)

And speaking of a Staal, what do their parents feed those boys? They are not quite at the Sutter level yet, but they are on their way.

Talbot call-up pays off for Penguins
After Saturday night's 8-2 romp in Philadelphia, the Penguins might want to add "clutch goal scoring" to his list of job responsibilities.

Notebook: Penguins bucking Philly funk
It's a well-known fact to Penguins fans -- but not so well known to many of the players -- that going to Philadelphia used to be a miserable experience for the team. The Penguins are 3-3-2 in their last eight games in Philadelphia but were 1-19-0 in 20 games prior to that. "I never knew about that so probably a lot of these guys didn't either," goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury said. The Penguins' 8-2 win Saturday was only their 18th regular-season victory in Philadelphia. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it matched the team's largest margin of victory in the City of Brotherly Love (the Penguins beat the Flyers, 9-3, on Nov. 29, 1991, at the Spectrum). This is the first time the Penguins have beaten the Flyers in consecutive games since November 2000.

• Before Tuesday's game against the New Jersey Devils, the Penguins were 4-0-0 when scoring the first goal and 0-3-1 when the opponent scored first this season. Both the Devils and the Flyers scored first, however, and the Penguins still came out on top. The Penguins were 3-38-9 when their opponent scored first last season.

• The Penguins did not practice Sunday. They will practice today and Tuesday before leaving for a three-game trip to the West Coast on Tuesday afternoon.

• Fleury has started all nine games this season, making it the first time he's started nine consecutive games in his NHL career. "Yeah, sure, I'm all right," Fleury said. "I'm feeling good, and the team's playing great right now, so hopefully we can keep it rolling for a while."

Crosby has hat trick in Penguins' romp
Sidney Crosby gave the crabby Philadelphia fans another athlete to jeer.

Trick's a treat
Sidney Crosby had his first career hat trick, Maxime Talbot scored two goals and the Penguins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 8-2 Saturday night for their fourth straight win.

About Me

My photo
First of all, the word is SEX, not GENDER. If you are ever tempted to use the word GENDER, don't. The word is SEX! SEX! SEX! SEX! For example: "My sex is male." is correct. "My gender is male." means nothing. Look it up. What kind of sick neo-Puritan nonsense is this? Idiot left-fascists, get your blood-soaked paws off the English language. Hence I am choosing "male" under protest.
