It seems Pope Francis needs to brush up on his Tertullian!

It has been reported (in The ChristLast Media, I must note) that the current Pope does not like the phrase "lead us not into temptation...

"Let no freedom be allowed to novelty, because it is not fitting that any addition should be made to antiquity. Let not the clear faith and belief of our forefathers be fouled by any muddy admixture." -- Pope Sixtus III

Solidarity by Steven Van Zandt (Blue Midnight Music, 1983)

This song represents the apex of Mr. Van Zandt's career. Lyrically, it obviously was the product of a blind squirrel with a broken watch moment for him. Most of his songs trumpet the usual infantile socialist totalitarianism of those "educated" in government schools.

Currently, Mr. Van Zandt can be found portraying one of my idiot Italian criminal cousins on an HBO show nobody watches. He is the third worst actor in the world.

Solidarity

Everybody wants the same things don't they
Everybody wants a happy end
They just want to see the game on Saturday
They wanna be somebody's friend

Everybody wants to work for a living
Everybody wants to keep their children warm
Everybody just wants to be forgiven
Everyone wants shelter from the storm

Look at me I ain't your enemy
Why can't we walk on common ground
We don't need to be fighting each other
What we need, what we need is solidarity

Nobody likes to ask for money
Nobody likes to play the clown
Nobody likes waiting in the long lines
Nobody likes being pushed around

Everybody wants their family protected
They only want to express themselves
Everybody wants to live forever
Everybody wants to be somebody else

Look at me I ain't your enemy
Don't believe everything you hear
This is no time to be fighting each other
What we need, what we need is solidarity

In 1983, Solidarnosc meant something. This song gets exactly one thing right: Real people don't give a damn about politics, movements, and causes. They just want their governments to leave them alone and allow them to work to make their kids' lives better.

From your mouth to God's ear, Little Steven...

About Me

My photo
First of all, the word is SEX, not GENDER. If you are ever tempted to use the word GENDER, don't. The word is SEX! SEX! SEX! SEX! For example: "My sex is male." is correct. "My gender is male." means nothing. Look it up. What kind of sick neo-Puritan nonsense is this? Idiot left-fascists, get your blood-soaked paws off the English language. Hence I am choosing "male" under protest.
