It seems Pope Francis needs to brush up on his Tertullian!

It has been reported (in The ChristLast Media, I must note) that the current Pope does not like the phrase "lead us not into temptation...

"Let no freedom be allowed to novelty, because it is not fitting that any addition should be made to antiquity. Let not the clear faith and belief of our forefathers be fouled by any muddy admixture." -- Pope Sixtus III

From the Sports Desk:

1) Let's face it, kiddies, Japan got screwed.

From CBS Sportsline.com: Japan gets raw deal on controversial call in 4-3 loss
A-Rod's ninth-inning RBI single wins the first game of round-robin play in Round 2 for the U.S. But Japan was robbed. Anyone who watched knows it, Scott Miller says.

2) Best announcers ever.

ESPN's team of Jay Williams, Tim McCormick, and Dave Barnett did a great job on Saturday's Xavier versus St. Joseph's matchup. Barnett was understated on the play by play, McCormick explained basketball like an analyst should (he didn't treat the audience like Martians who had never seen a game in their lives) and Williams' honest over the top enthusiasm (he sounded like a player who just happened to have a mike in his face) seemed genuine.

I HATE announcers, so this is quite a compliment.

3) From ESPN: Source: Longtime Temple coach Chaney to retire

Coach Chaney is a loud-mouthed hothead who will be best remembered for threatening to kill John Calipari at a press conference. He is also a great coach who did not graduate nearly enough of his players. Temple hoops will never be great again

Longtime Temple coach John Chaney will announce his retirement at an 11 a.m. ET press conference, a source told ESPN.com's Andy Katz.

A Hall of Famer, Chaney, 74, guided Temple to five NCAA regional finals and 17 NCAA Tournament appearances in 24 seasons in North Philadelphia.

This season, Temple (17-14) made the NIT for the fifth straight season, a dramatic decline from when it was a tournament regular.

Chaney has 741 wins as a college coach, including a 516-252 record at Temple, and has won six Atlantic 10 titles. He was twice named national coach of the year and is a five-time Atlantic 10 coach of the year.

He began his collegiate coaching career at Cheney State University where he led his team to the 1978 Division II National Championship.

4) There was a woman with an absolutely stunning pair of legs behind and to the left of the Syracuse bench during Saturday's game against Pitt. I could not keep my mind on the game.

About Me

My photo
First of all, the word is SEX, not GENDER. If you are ever tempted to use the word GENDER, don't. The word is SEX! SEX! SEX! SEX! For example: "My sex is male." is correct. "My gender is male." means nothing. Look it up. What kind of sick neo-Puritan nonsense is this? Idiot left-fascists, get your blood-soaked paws off the English language. Hence I am choosing "male" under protest.
