It seems Pope Francis needs to brush up on his Tertullian!

It has been reported (in The ChristLast Media, I must note) that the current Pope does not like the phrase "lead us not into temptation...

"Let no freedom be allowed to novelty, because it is not fitting that any addition should be made to antiquity. Let not the clear faith and belief of our forefathers be fouled by any muddy admixture." -- Pope Sixtus III

Penguins Update.

+The Penguins didn't sell out all their October home dates, but the 31 percent increase over attendance in October 2003 was the highest in the NHL. The Penguins averaged 15,902 over their six October home dates, including two standing-room only sellouts in the first two home games of the season. They had the lowest average attendance in the league in 2003-04 with 11,877. NHL buildings, as a whole, were filled to 91.2 percent capacity during the first month of the season, averaging 16,820 fans for 174 games total, a league record for the month.

+Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, the Penguins' No. 1 overall draft choice in 2003, was named the Koho/AHL Goaltender of the Month for October after going 6-0-0 with a 1.17 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The AHL Penguins are unbeaten in their first nine games of the season, the longest winning streak to start a season in franchise history.

+Scott Clemmensen started in goal for the Devils for the third consecutive game Tuesday in place of the injured Martin Brodeur. Brodeur, who was in net for the first two games between the Devils and Penguins this year, is suffering from a strained MCL. Clemmensen, 28, had won both starts going into last night's game, bringing his career record to 5-1.

+Defenseman Ric Jackman (3 goals, 8 assists, minus-3 in 11 games) was a healthy scratch last night for the first time this year. Also scratched were defenseman Josef Melichar for the fifth game in a row and right winger Ryan VandenBussche. Right winger Andre Roy (eye) and defenseman Dick Tarnstrom (knee) were also out. (Thanks to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for the heads up.)

About Me

My photo
First of all, the word is SEX, not GENDER. If you are ever tempted to use the word GENDER, don't. The word is SEX! SEX! SEX! SEX! For example: "My sex is male." is correct. "My gender is male." means nothing. Look it up. What kind of sick neo-Puritan nonsense is this? Idiot left-fascists, get your blood-soaked paws off the English language. Hence I am choosing "male" under protest.
