It seems Pope Francis needs to brush up on his Tertullian!

It has been reported (in The ChristLast Media, I must note) that the current Pope does not like the phrase "lead us not into temptation...

"Let no freedom be allowed to novelty, because it is not fitting that any addition should be made to antiquity. Let not the clear faith and belief of our forefathers be fouled by any muddy admixture." -- Pope Sixtus III

Dave Brubeck's Commandments to Premiere at Lincoln Center.

Mr. Brubeck's music is not what I would call jazz, even though Take Five is one of the coolest tunes ever. I would not call myself a fan of his, but this sounds very interesting:

Jazz pianist Dave Brubeck’s new six-minute choral work will have its world premiere at the New York Jewish Music Festival on September 14.

The performance takes place at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall.

The work, entitled The Commandments, will be performed by the 90-piece chorus Providence Singers. The evening also features an 11-piece orchestra and the Dave Brubeck Quartet.

Brubeck said, “It has taken me almost 60 years finally to compose something I wanted to write when I was a young soldier in Europe,” the Associated Press reports, adding that the inspiration for the work came when the composer saw most of the Biblical commandments broken during World War II.

Brubeck’s Gates of Justice, one of the first jazz oratorios, will also be performed. (Thanks to PlaybillArts via Yahoo!News.)

About Me

My photo
First of all, the word is SEX, not GENDER. If you are ever tempted to use the word GENDER, don't. The word is SEX! SEX! SEX! SEX! For example: "My sex is male." is correct. "My gender is male." means nothing. Look it up. What kind of sick neo-Puritan nonsense is this? Idiot left-fascists, get your blood-soaked paws off the English language. Hence I am choosing "male" under protest.
