The Japanese are different than you and me...

About 800 carp streamers sent from across Japan flutter in the wind over Kanna River in Gunma Prefecture. Local residents began using old carp streamers 25 years ago in a bid to promote the area. The streamers will be on display until May 6. Special entertainment events will be performed on a stage set along the river from Wednesday to Friday. (Mainichi)
