Hillary Clinton raises money for Pa. candidate Casey

Sen. Hillary Clinton headlined a fundraiser Tuesday for Democratic Senate candidate Bob Casey.

Casey, the state treasurer, has been ahead of Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., for months in the polls, but Santorum ended 2005 with more than twice as much cash on hand.

The event was at Chicago's Palmer House Hilton. Clinton, D-N.Y., was here to deliver a speech Tuesday night to the Economic Club of Chicago.

Larry Smar, a Casey campaign spokesman, said Tuesday an estimate of how much the event raised was not available.

The National Organization for Women has criticized Clinton, who supports abortion rights, before for contributing $10,000 from her political action committee to Casey. Like Santorum, Casey is anti-abortion.
