Man on pushbike hits schoolboy with baseball bat

KOBE -- A man on a bicycle hit a junior high school student with a metal baseball bat on Monday morning, police said.

The man attacked the boy in Kobe's Nada-ku at about 7 a.m., leaving the victim with minor injuries on the right thigh.

The man immediately left the scene on his green bicycle.

The 13-year-old boy was on his way to school when the man approached him from behind, police said.
