Warren Buffett, the world’s second richest man will be donating almost all his 24 billion pound fortune to a charity run by the world richest man, Microsoft founder, Bill Gates.

Buffett’s donation will double the size of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, presently the biggest vehicle for private charitable giving in the world helping eradicate disease and poverty in the developing world and improve education in the West.

Ha! Killing third world kiddies is "eradicating disease and poverty"!

Incidentally, Buffett's decision came a fortnight after Gates announced his decision to step down from day-to day work at Microsoft to devote more time to his charity.

Seventy five year old Buffet, also known as the Sage of Omaha, had earlier indicated that he would donate 85 per cent of his wealth, tied up in shares in his Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate, to charity after his death under the supervision of his wife, Susie.

But Susie’s death two years back led him to change his plans, reports The Independent.

According to the report, Buffett will begin giving annual chunks of Berkshire Hathaway shares to the Gates Foundation and to charities run by his three children, next month onwards. He will also continue giving some of his wealth to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, his late wife's charity, which has focused on pro-abortion and nuclear disarmament campaigns.
