It seems Pope Francis needs to brush up on his Tertullian!

It has been reported (in The ChristLast Media, I must note) that the current Pope does not like the phrase "lead us not into temptation...

"Let no freedom be allowed to novelty, because it is not fitting that any addition should be made to antiquity. Let not the clear faith and belief of our forefathers be fouled by any muddy admixture." -- Pope Sixtus III

Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers Update.

What, you expected another Penguins update?

From the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Bettis lands a job with NBC

Two weeks after retiring from the NFL, Steelers running back Jerome Bettis already has found gainful employment.

Bettis will serve as a studio analyst with Bob Costas (I hope Jerome will be able to stay awake. - F. G.) and Cris Collinsworth on NBC's telecasts of Sunday night football - and his first day on the job will feature the Steelers' season opener on a special Thursday night edition Sept. 7.

The show will be called "Football Night in America." (Don Cherry, call your office. - F.G.) The announcement was made Sunday night when Bettis, accompanied by his parents, paid a visit to Costas at NBC's studio in Turin, Italy, for the Winter Olympics.
NBC says the one-hour pregame show will begin at 7 p.m.

Known for his gregarious personality, Bettis won several awards during his career for his affable nature with the media, and he hosted his own local TV show.

Bettis, 34, follows a line of former Steelers players who work or have worked as network analysts, including Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann, Mark Malone and Merrill Hoge.

Bettis' move to television continued a whirlwind two weeks for him, which included helping the Steelers beat the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL in his hometown of Detroit, visiting Disney World the next day and making stops at "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Live with Regis and Kelly," among others.

Ranked fifth all-time in rushing, Bettis has become a celebrity even away from the field. He had talked several times about potentially moving to the broadcasting side of the NFL.

He now gets that wish on NBC, which hasn't televised NFL games since 1997. NBC will handle Sunday night telecasts, which previously aired on ESPN, and ESPN will take over Monday Night Football, previously on its sister network ABC.

The NFL now considers Sunday night football its marquee television showcase and will employ a flexible scheduling model. NBC's multiyear rights deal with the NFL begins in September.

Books will be written about these Steelers. Photos will adorn the team offices for a lifetime. Things will never be the same for them.

Definitely getting ahead of ourselves, but let's let Joey be Joey:

Steelers sense a sixth
Linebacker Joey Porter's championship parade declaration -- "Get used to this; plan on doing this once a year, baby" -- wasn't the first suggestion from a Steelers player that perhaps a dynasty had been born during Super Bowl XL.

A dynasty in the making?
"The Bus" made his final stop in Detroit, but the Steelers' Super Bowl train could roll on for years.

About Me

My photo
First of all, the word is SEX, not GENDER. If you are ever tempted to use the word GENDER, don't. The word is SEX! SEX! SEX! SEX! For example: "My sex is male." is correct. "My gender is male." means nothing. Look it up. What kind of sick neo-Puritan nonsense is this? Idiot left-fascists, get your blood-soaked paws off the English language. Hence I am choosing "male" under protest.
