Battle of the Day

On this date in 1967 the USS Liberty was attacked by Israeli planes.

How does that old saw go? "There are no permanent friends or permanent enemies; there are only permanent interests." (See Lord Palmerston. Again, a big thanks to my favorite commie-symp site Spartacus Educational.)

May God have mercy on the souls of the thirty-four crewmen of the Liberty who died in the attack and may He also have mercy on the souls of those who murdered them.
