Veep Ought to Call a Press Conference, Democrat Leader Says

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Harry Reid stepped up to the microphone Wednesday morning, calling on Vice President Dick Cheney to hold a press conference to answer questions about his accidental shooting of a fellow hunter in Texas over the weekend. Reid spoke at the White House, following a meeting with President Bush, Cheney and congressional leaders. Reid's comments on Wednesday suggest that Democrats are eager to keep the media focus on Cheney. Reid has infuriated rank-and-file members of his own party by forcing Ohio Democrat Paul Hackett to drop out of the U.S. Senate race.
