This season looks like the end of the line for The Bus and I doubt he's going to win the Super Bowl championship he wants so badly.
This past Sunday's game at Heinz Field against the Bears and their top ranked defense will serve as an excellent way to remember a good man and a sure-fire Hall of Fame running back.
The cold, the snow, the mud. 101 yards and 2 TDs. By the end of the game, we could hardly read his name and number on the back of his jersey. This is the way it used to be before the NFL became a giant, antiseptic marketing firm.
Did you see the way he ran through Brian Urlacher on that touchdown run? They just don't make them like Jerome Bettis these days. Save the VCR tapes. Copy them onto DVDs so your grandchildren will know what men were like in the good old days.
Memo To Mr.Urlacher: If you play in the street, you're gonna get run over by The Bus.
Thank you, Mr. Bettis, for your grace, your class, and above all, your tireless efforts on behalf of our beloved Steelers.
May God bless and protect you in all your future endeavors. May He heal all those bumps, bruises, and sprains you suffered while entertainig and inspiring us.
And even if you retire to your hometown of Detroit, please be assured as long as crazed fanatics wear Black and Gold, you'll always have a home in our hearts.
