Santorum asks Independents to vote for him in Michigan

I thought this was the Repansycans' winning strategy.

KENTWOOD, Mich. – Rick Santorum was unapologetic today for making hundreds of calls to Michigan Democrats asking them to cross party lines and support his candidacy, and called complaints from rival Mitt Romney a “cheap shot.”

“We’re proving the point that we can attract the voters that we need to win states like Michigan,” Santorum said at a diner before boarding a flight to Ohio, where he was to spend a few hours in that Super Tuesday state campaigning. He was expected to return this afternoon to Grand Rapids, Mich., to gather with supporters tonight for what he hopes will be a victory party...
