Robert Zemeckis thought it would be a really cool idea to screw with the oldest written tale in English and make some money at the same time. The result is his excreble film Beowulf .
I suppose we should be thankful Jerry Bruckheimer did not have the same idea first.
Ditto the knuckleheads who turned the Battle of Thermopylae into a comic book and then a two hour long computerized cartoon.
Your best [and most intellectually honest] bet is to read the book, kiddies. If you need video, this one is less awful than some I have seen.
