Back in spring training there was no more maligned manager in baseball than Ole' Cornpone Charlie, who most pundits predicted would be the first skipper fired. Then, early in the season radiohead Howard Eskin baited him into near fisticuffs, which Manuel eventually apologized for. [Thanks to the NY Daily News for this link.]
The most monumental moron of media in Philly [That is saying quite a lot, kiddies.] seems to find Charlie's southern drawl offensive. He should listen to himself one in a while...
