Goodnight, Sam.

WLUC: Republican Sam Brownback drops out of presidential race

The field of presidential candidates is one smaller. Republican Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas has dropped out of the race. He announced his withdrawal Friday at the Kansas statehouse with his family by his side. Brownback says his campaign didn't get the breaks it needed.

By all accounts, Mr. Brownback is a faithful Catholic and a gentleman. Sadly, he ran as a politician.

Even more sadly, Alan Keyes, the only real Catholic and only real conservative in the race, does not have a chance of winning the nomination.

Mike Huckabee appears to be our best bet, kiddies.
