WGAL: 'Do Not Hate' Invaders, Saddam Writes
Baghdad - A letter on the Internet, purportedly from Saddam Hussein, calls on Iraqis not to hate the invaders of their country.
In a letter published on a Web site known to represent the Baath Party, Saddam calls on Iraqis not to hate because "hate does not leave space for a person to be fair" and it "closes all doors of thinking."
As do unrestrained power and mass murder.
A member of Saddam Hussein's legal team has confirmed to The Associated Press that the letter was authentic, saying it was written by Saddam on Nov. 5. He said it was released Tuesday and published on the party's Web site today.
"Dear faithful people," the letter added, "I say goodbye to you, but I will be with the merciful God who helps those who take refuge in him and who will never disappoint any honest believer."
Oh, man, is he in for a surprise!
"I call on you not to hate because hate does not leave space for a person to be fair and it makes you blind and closes all doors of thinking," said the letter.
For the first time in a long time, the civilized world will put to death a political arch-criminal. It should happen more often.
May the One, True God have mercy on his immortal soul.
He is going to need it.
