Paths of waitress and world traveler collided on the tracks
She was a waitress at a pizza place in Matawan who was trying to save enough money to get back into Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a teacher, artist and world traveler who was living a contented semi-retirement in Istanbul, Turkey.

Train mishap kills N.J. native bound for family reunion
An American expatriate whose long trip back to New Jersey was interrupted when the train he was riding on struck and killed a woman in Monmouth County was himself killed early yesterday by the train that was sent to rescue him. (Thanks to The Star-Ledger for the heads up.)
