Jerry Brown is running for California Attorney General...

...Sick joke or crime against humanity?

Contra Costa Times: Attorney general
Though Democrat Jerry Brown is better known, has more money and has enjoyed a double-digit lead in the polls, a state Senate Republican is making a serious bid to defeat him for the office of state attorney general.

Sen. Chuck Poochigian of Fresno is warning that Brown is too "flaky" for the job of the state's top law enforcement official. The senator principally calls Brown soft on crime and cites his opposition to the death penalty.

"Jerry Brown is the last person who should have the responsibility of protecting California's families as attorney general," said Poochigian spokesman Kevin Spillane.

But Brown, a former California governor and now Oakland's mayor, is saying Poochigian is "too extreme" for the state, considering his opposition to gun control and abortion rights.

Brown campaign strategist Ace Smith said Poochigian is "trying to pass himself off as a moderate when in fact he's an extremist."

Ah...It is morning in Jerry Brown's Amerika. I can smell the brimstone from here...
