WGAL: Barnstormers Bash Three Homers In Championship Win
LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Lancaster Barnstormers are Atlantic League champions.
Players rushed the field at Clipper Magazine Stadium Sunday night after beating Bridgeport 5-2 to clinch the title.
The Barnstormers knocked in three home runs in the championship game. Jeremy Todd was named playoff MVP.
"It's a big moment in my baseball career and one i will remember the rest of my life," said Todd.
"This is awesome. These guys are great. They say it's the fans, but it's them that made us come out," said Michael McDonald, of Millersville.
The Barstormers are the first Atlantic League team to go through the postseason unbeaten. They're also the first Lancaster baseball team to win a title in 51 years.
