Crossed The Tiber is the blog of a Catholic gentleman who wandered in the desert of protestantism for thirty years before finding his way back home.
I do not know how awful (thank God) that separation must have felt, but I'm guessing it is similar to having my soul burdened by sin before partaking of the Sacrament of Penance - knowing that the distance between God and my soul is my fault and mine alone.
Thankfully, The Church has preserved this and all the Sacraments given to us by Our Lord and Savior to help us save our souls. Those who claim to follow Christ without the benefit of His Church and His Sacraments must be pitied and we must pray for their conversion.
thanks for posting my blog.
ReplyDeleteIt felt like something was always missing but I couldn't put my finger on it. It was a sense of always wanting and desiring to follow him in those different ecclesial communities but never feeling like I fit.
It seems as if a veil has literally been lifted from my eyes and I finally feel at home in the Catholic Church 2.5 years and growing!!
I daily kick myself for leaving as a 14 yr old, but I so appreciate the Eucharist now, my wife and I receive our Lord daily and we frequent the confessional too! So much grace to be had in this Church!
God bless
It was my pleasure.
