A Marine Corps sergeant under investigation in connection with the deaths of 24 Iraqi civilians in Haditha is accusing Rep. John P. Murtha of defaming him in public comments about the case.

...and after consulting with his attorneys, he says what he meant to say was "Bush did it."

Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.) said he does not blame a Marine for "lashing out" against him by filing a defamation lawsuit yesterday, but the congressman said his comments about the questionable killings of two dozen civilians in Haditha, Iraq, were merely meant to attack the nation's strategy in the war.

That's what I call a real cowardly "mutha"...
