USA Today - China is slowly phaisng out public executions by firing squad in favor of letha injections, but unlike the United States and Singapore, the only two other countries where death is administered by injection, China metes out capital punishment from specially equipped "death vans" that shuttle from town to town.
Three Gorges Dam activist who defied state is paralysed in attack
Independent - Fu Xiancai, a brave campaigner for the rights of people displaced by China's Three Gorges Dam, lies paralysed with a broken neck. He was attacked by thugs on the way home from a meeting with police officials unhappy with his contact with foreign journalists, human rights activists said.
