That's why they call them fanatics.

UPI: Homeless Clippers fan pedals to game

In a town where glamour rules courtside, the most devoted Los Angeles Clipper fan is a 46-year-old homeless man who earns $10 an hour at a car wash.

Carl Cook estimates his annual income at about $10,000, but every year he puts down a sizeable percentage of that to pay for Clippers season tickets, The Los Angeles Times reports.

This year season tickets cost $3,300.

Cook says he's been a Clippers fan since the 1980s and he's stuck with them through thick and thin -- both for him and the team. When the team wasn't drawing well, they often gave him tickets. But once they became a hot commodity, Cook found it necessary to sell his sailboat to pay for his Clippers tickets, the newspaper said.

Cook told the Times he earns $30 or so detailing cars and $10 an hour at a car wash. He generally sleeps at a laundromat or on a friend's boat.

On game days, when work is over, he heads for the arena on his bicycle. The round trip can be 36 miles through dangerous L.A. traffic.

Riding the bike to the game "shows your devotion," Cook told the Times.
