Art Daily: Millionaire Bolts Lamborghini to Wall LEFT: Is it my imagination, or is that a tear falling from that Countach's headlights?
NEWPORT BEACH, CA - Millionaire Richard Moriarty has taken his 1,000 pound 1974 black Lamborghini Countach and bolted it to the wall. The Associated Press reported that “on Friday, a five-man crew hung the 1,000-pound engineless vehicle from a steel-reinforced wall with loops of half-inch-thick steel cable.” Moriarty removed the engine and built a coffee table. A 70 ton crane was hired to lift the car and introduce it through a skylight in his mansion. “This isn't the first time Moriarty, an heir to the family that developed South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, has installed offbeat elements in his home. Previous innovations include an indoor rifle range and a 28-foot-high interior waterfall, architect Fleetwood Joiner said to the Associated Press.”
