Lawyer faints when client acquitted.

From Pittsburgh's other newspaper:

The former mayor of Erie and two of his business associates were acquitted yesterday of charges that they used inside information to benefit from real estate deals.

Washington County jurors found ex-mayor Rick Filippi, his former campaign manager, Eric Purchase, and law partner, Rolf Patberg, all not guilty, said Leonard Ambrose, Mr. Filippi's lawyer.

Mr. Ambrose was so emotionally overwhelmed that he fainted when the jury announced its decision on the first count against Mr. Filippi.

"I hit the table pretty hard with my head and ricocheted off the table on to the floor. ... It was an emotionally draining experience. I started to see black spots and I was on the floor," Mr. Ambrose said later. "I have never been as emotionally close to a client and friend as in this case."

Maybe Ambrose was shocked his defense strategy actually worked.
