From the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:
+After missing Sunday night's 4-1 loss in Tampa, there's a chance Mario Lemieux might play tonight against the Buffalo Sabres at Mellon Arena. He's been battling a stomach virus for a couple weeks, and coach Ed Olczyk said Monday evening that Lemieux would probably be listed as "questionable," if he were playing football.
"He's a little better. And he was feeling even better this afternoon," Olczyk said. "Right now, he's day-to-day. Sometimes, when you try to work through those sort of things and get back to the level you're accustomed to, sometimes, you don't let yourself get back completely healthy. He's no different than any of us in that regard."
+Sidney Crosby didn't practice yesterday , giving his sore left foot the day off. He said it's getting better and expects to play tonight. "We looked at some new padding, but I don't think it will be necessary," Crosby said.
+This week figures to be tough for the struggling Penguins. They played Tampa on Sunday, have Buffalo (14-9-1) at home tonight, go to Madison Square Garden on Thursday to face the New York Rangers (16-7-3) and are at home Saturday night against Calgary (14-8-3).
+The Penguins placed forward Michel Ouellet on injured reserved yesterday afternoon after the 23-year-old was hobbled by back spasms.
