In response to my post on Robert Kaplan's new book,

Robert Kaplan's comments on Evangelical Christianity are interesting considering that he wrote an entire book (warrior politics: why leadership demands a pagan ethos) which attacked Christian morality in public life and proposed its replacement with Paganism. He follows in the footsteps of Edward Gibbon in blaming Christianity for the fall of the Roman Empire. Christian Morality, according to Kaplan, is incompatable with leadership in any form.He is no friend to Christianity in any form.
The only reason he would ever praise evangelical christianity is that he thinks its followers can be useful in fighting wars for his vision of a new American empire based on Paganism.
Not to be flippant, but what on earth makes you think America hasn't always been a pagan empire?
Of course, I've always thought protestantism to be a thin "Christian" veneer on the same old nonsense the world has been peddling since Adam and Eve messed up big time.
Keep The Faith, baby. Everything else is just foolishness.
