Today we honor the anniversary of the Dedication of the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome. This is also the Feast of St. Nouna, wife of St. Gregory of Nazianzus. All their children also became saints. Pray for us, all you angels and saints.

Today's reading is Apocalypse 21: 1-5 .
Today's Gospel reading is Luke 11:27-28 .

Dear St. Anthony, you became a Franciscan with the hope of shedding your blood for Christ. In God's plan for you, your thirst for martyrdom was never to be satisfied. St. Anthony, Martyr of Desire, pray that I may become less afraid to stand up and be counted as a follower of the Lord Jesus. Intercede also for my other intentions. (Name them.)

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the divine power, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
